Free Online Checkers

So your wanting some Free Resume Help are you? Well today is your lucky day because I am feeling mighty generous! I thought I would poke my head around some notes I've collected recently and, also listen to the voices inside my head and include for you a few tidbits that will help you land your next job! In the very least you'll have a decent looking resume for a change!

Short And Simple

First off unless you have more than 10 years experience at a particular profession keep your resume no longer than 1 page. Also, leave the cheezy "References:Available Upon request" it's heavily outdated for 2007. Try and structure your resume so it will get a persons attention. Remember that your resume will be viewed by a hiring manager during the first phase for no more than a few seconds. So you need to make sure that in that first few seconds you have someone glancing at your resume that something reaches out and grabs them!

Proofread, and do it again!

You want to make sure your resume is free of any errors with grammar and punctuation. If there is any one particular of Free Resume Help I can give you this is it. With modern day technology in place it's really easy to send a resume full of errors in email. A lot of times we use just the spell checkers in the word processors we use to correct any grammatical errors. However this is not enough much of the time because those spell checkers simply do not catch all the errors. Also in the more fancy word processors the grammar checkers just aren't that great. So, be sure to double, then triple check your resume for accuracy and good grammar before you submit it.

Stop Your Barking And Yelping!

One thing I can't stand to see when I go in for a job interview is all the stiff, smiling people who are like "Yes sir, no sir, blah blah blah." They act like human lap dogs begging for interviews as if they were treats. Remember even though you may need a job in the end it is you that is doing the employer a favor. If an employer is in need of someone to work for them then they are looking for a solution to a problem. You are there to solve they're problem for them in the form of your position. Treat a prospective employer as such, remember you are the one doing the favor, and in return they are agreeing to pay you in a monetary form.

Another quick tip: Trash the video resume! It might of looked good at one point but, the last thing an employer wants to do is talk to you before they've had a change to even call you. Keep your initial presentation of yourself to paper or electronic text format.

A lot of this Free Resume Help is Simple common sense. Be yourself, come prepared to be yourself and present your ability to solve your prospective employers problem!
